Wheel of Fortune® Slots: Where Innovation and Fandom Come Together

It has been my privilege to look after the Wheel of Fortune slots portfolio for more than 12 years.  Every year, I look forward to G2E where IGT’s products shine as we unveil our latest and greatest games.

Wheel of Fortune slots has a legacy of games more than any other brand. This is a game that consistently performs in the market, but really, it has always been about the players.  Wheel of Fortune fans are different.  They are what make this product so special.

Wheel of Fortune players trust the brand based on years of experience playing IGT’s slot machines and watching Wheel of Fortune with their parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren. The daily advertisement of the brand on TV doesn’t hurt either.

So how does this translate to the games?   IGT provides a unique experience through the sounds of the show, with the famous “Wheel of Fortune” chant, max bet chime, and the sound of the iconic big wheel spinning.  Voiceovers from Vanna White and Jim Thornton top off the experience and immerse players in the game.  Additionally, players expect the Big Wheel bonus and other features at a frequency and payout that keeps them coming back.

What does this mean to us when developing new concepts?  We must continue to innovate and bring novel experiences to players.

IGT launched the first Wheel of Fortune slot game in 1996


We created the biggest wheel slot experience when Wheel of Fortune Super Spin launched in 2006.


Wheel of Fortune Triple Spin on Center Stage debuted in 2010, creating the biggest video experience for players on casino floors.


IGT unveiled Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin in 2011; proving that if one wheel is good, then three wheels must be great!


Most recently, IGT created the best union of slot brand and slot technology with Wheel of Fortune Double Diamond® 3D, which launched in 2016.


All of this comes back to fulfilling the player with an authentic experience.  This means giving them the sights, sounds, bonus action and winning feeling that they expect from Wheel of Fortune Slots. This year, we will be debuting something for our Wheel of Fortune fans that no one will miss!  (See it at G2E 2016!)
