For 25 years, I’ve attended the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention. And, every year, I look forward to reuniting with trusted friends and meeting emerging leaders in the Tribal Gaming community.
To many, myself included, this annual event is regarded as the pinnacle of tradition and inspiration. Its reach extends beyond gaming because its message and purpose transcend technological developments and its commitment to future generations empowers everyone in attendance.
The first NIGA Convention I attended was in the early 1990’s. The forum was a far cry from the packed convention halls we see today in San Diego and Phoenix. But the same vision and passion that ignited Indian Gaming in the early days, remains evident at every NIGA event.
For over 16 years, respected NIGA Chairman Ernie Stevens, Jr. has led a talented team, dedicated to preserving the entrepreneurial spirit and sovereignty of Indian Gaming. The organization, now 184 members strong, takes this national opportunity to reaffirm collective goals and responsibilities that further promote the Indian Gaming landscape.
This convention is a celebration of hope and commitment to community. Those values are apparent in every aspect of the event’s programming, from panels to the tradeshow floor, to the Chairman’s Awards Luncheon and the Wendell Chino Humanitarian Awards, held in honor of the late leader who is remembered for his legacy of protecting Tribal sovereignty. These programs inspire, challenge and raise the humanitarian bar for everyone in attendance, regardless of our roles.
One of the things I am looking forward the most this year is the expansion of the educational offerings for attendees. Victor Rocha, Pechanga.net Founder and one of the industry’s most prolific voices, is now working with NIGA to create impactful resources for the future leaders of Tribal gaming.
Agility and evolution are necessary for any successful business infrastructure. The educational opportunities offered at NIGA are designed for Tribal operators with these key components in mind. I’m am proud to work for a company whose legacy proves that we hold these same principles in the highest regard when creating new games for our partners.
Today’s gaming world is so much more complex than it was even five years ago. IGT’s long-standing partnerships with casinos around the world is proof of our continual evolution as an industry leader.
NIGA is a great opportunity to see for yourself, the end-to-end solutions we’ve designed with your success in mind. We apply our industry-leading R&D investment to develop a performance-packed portfolio. But, more importantly, we’ve listened to you. What you need, what you want, where you envision your properties for generations to come—all reflected in this year’s line-up. Here are just a few highlights that you can expect to see in our booth.
Cardless Connect, the much-celebrated cashless solution, that gives your players more options than ever. For your low-denom MLP players, check out the new Super Red Hot Jackpots™ Video Slots, now available on the S3000® cabinet and the gold standard of MLPs, Fort Knox® Video Slots, that are back, bigger and better than ever on the Crystal Curve™ premium gaming machine. Looking to attract skill-based gamers? Don’t miss the Texas-sized fun of Texas Tea Pinball Video Slots that rewards skill and sparks friendly competition on the leaderboard. That’s all I can share for now, but make sure you have plenty of time to explore our booth.
I hope that whether this is your first or your fifteenth NIGA show, you continue to take pride in the thousands of futures being shaped each year at this event through all of our collective contributions.
This conference is, indeed, a time to come together and celebrate as one voice. I personally invite you to visit us, where you’ll see, not only the gaming solutions to power your floor’s future, but your trusted partners in innovation. Just ask for us by first name…Renato, Nick, Ken, Tim, Toni, John, me- and the rest of the IGT product and sales team. We look forward to continuing our tradition of providing you with the resources you need to succeed for generations to come.
See you in San Diego.
